Translation

I am a freelance translator with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Specialized Translation Studies Business from Akad University Stuttgart.

Translating is my main occupation and I translate from English to German and from German to English, with German being my native language.

I translate various types of texts from different fields, please refer to areas of expertise for more information.

Of course, I have experience in using common translation tools such as memoQ, Trados etc.

Localization

Localization means that a translation is adapted to the culture and preferences of the target group.

This is a matter of course for me since I am aware of the cultural differences between Germany, England, the USA and many other countries.

All my translations are localized. Depending on the client’s wishes, I can adapt a translation more or less to the target group.

Proofreading

Proofreading is an important task. Before publishing a text, it should be thoroughly checked by an experienced language expert. Thanks to my stylistic expertise and keen eye, I am up to the task.

This also applies to translated texts and thanks to my experience as a translator, I can identify areas for improvement that proofreaders without translation training cannot – translated texts exhibit typical phenomena that result from poor translation technique and expose the translation as such.

Of course, I also carefully proofread all of my own translations, it is part of the translation service I offer.

Interpreting

I also have experience in this field and received a number of jobs as an interpreter.

My tasks include accompanying the management to meetings, presentations, negotiations, the acquisition of customers and suppliers and the discussion of technological matters.

The participants in the meetings have diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including China, Japan, Poland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Germany, England and the USA.

Teaching

I have professional experience as a teacher and trainer in adult education, teaching German and English as a foreign language.

Typical teaching tasks such as the competence analysis of course participants, the creation of a curriculum and teaching materials and of course the teaching itself were part of my activities.

I have used a number of teaching methods, taking into account the latest scientific findings in terms of didactics and language acquisition.

Voice-overs

When I was still at school, I had the opportunity to gain an insight into working at a radio station and I did reports as part of a school project.

I learned how to use and train my voice and I have been demonstrating my skills in sound recordings for many years. Since 2016, I have been publishing narrations with my own voice, for which I have received plenty of praise from my audience.
